Theoretical Perspective Theoretical & Conceptual Framework
The terminology used in qualitative research might be perplexing. The words appear to be ordinary English, but they have highly specific meanings. To further complicate the language, different qualitative methodological experts may use distinct definitions.
Distinctions between two important ideas should be explored for the purposes of this course:
The use of structures and propositions from a recognized theory (or theories) to a study problem, goal, and query is referred to as the theoretical framework.
Social influence theory, transformational leadership theory, and game theory are among examples.
The formation of ideas, assumptions, and beliefs based on literature and personal experience that define the main concepts that lead the formulation of the study topic, purpose, and inquiry.
Examples: Positive psychology concepts, mindfulness meditation, and language development models
To get ready for this discussion, do the following:
Review the Learning Resources on using a theoretical or conceptual framework to guide the investigation of a qualitative research problem.
On Day 3,
Provide examples from the resources you examined to explain the role of a theoretical or conceptual framework in qualitative research. To back up your claim, use proper APA formatting and sources.
