Early Intervention Programs for Young Children Focus of the Final Paper The assessment process is a critical event for families and their children; the outcome of this process could mean specialized interventions that could significantly change a child’s developmental course. Assessment, of course, is important for eligibility determination, but it is equally important for program planning, monitoring progress, and program evaluation.
Since this process is vital to families and professionals, it is imperative that materials and procedures for early childhood assessment are relevant and meaningful (Bagnato & Neisworth, 2000). Instructions As a result of research and federally enacted legislation, there are many early intervention programs available for infants and young children with disabilities, developmental delays, or who are otherwise at risk. Using the NAEYC Position Statement on Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs Serving Children from Birth through Age 8(http://www.naeyc.org/positionstatements/dap) as a guide, research and select two early intervention programs. Evaluate the appropriateness of these programs including the setting, purpose, structure, and cost of each program. This paper will be divided into five main components:
Title Page
