Question One: Cooley Identity Meme and emoji
Explain Cooley’s Looking Glass Self using emojis. (Make sure the emojis appear in your response). Next translate what these emojis represent to you and explain why they illustrate Cooley’s theory. (30 points)
Next, copy and paste 3 Memes you use most frequently that you feel represent your identity. Explain what you feel they communicate about your identity? (15 points)

Define what an agent of Socialization is. Explain how the four agents of socialization fulfill their function. (20 points)
Choose 2 of the 4 agents of socialization that you feel have been most significant to you in the socialization process. Name each and estimate how many hours a day you spend in contact with these agents. Describe specifically how they taught you who and how to be. For the 2 agents, name and explain 2 values/beliefs/perspectives (how to be) you were taught and 2 aspects of your identity(who) that was learned. (15 points)
Think about how you interact with the agents of socialization through your phone. Describe phone use. State how much of your day you spend in your screen time. How many hours a day do you work versus spend using your phone (look at your screen time report on phone). Describe how much time is used in entertainment, productivity and social. (10 points)
Try not to use screens (phones, computers, smartwatches, tablets) for one hour (this hour is outside of time sleeping or work). How long were you able to be without a screen? What were the feelings of being without a screen? Why did you want to use your phone? What was the first thing you looked at when you picked up phone? Who was the person you connected with? What agent of socialization does this person represent? (15 points)
