Exercise In Employee Performance And Appraisal
Traditionally, performance appraisals have been completed using pre-printed forms or templates. A detailed framework for measuring performance should be included in an appraisal form. You will have to complete and/or review performance appraisals whether you are an employee, HR representative, or manager. You will create a performance appraisal template for this discussion that you believe would benefit the organization where you currently or previously worked. Also, take a look at some of the performance appraisal templates that are available on the internet.
Create a performance appraisal template that you believe is appropriate for your current or previous position and company. The appraisal should include a rating scale as well as five competencies that you think the organization should use to evaluate employees. Include a rating scale guideline at the very least (i.e., description of what each rating is composed of). To the first post, attach your performance appraisal template.
Explain why you chose the five competencies in the body of your post and how they contribute to effective employee performance management, training, and development programs.
Your first post must be at least 300 words long. To back up your response, cite at least one scholarly source.
Guided Response: By Day 7, you should have responded to at least two of your classmates’ posts. Examine your peers’ performance appraisal templates as well as their justifications for their choices. Discuss whether or not the skills of your peers could benefit your current or previous employer, and why.
