Critiquing Internet Sources General Education
Today, the Internet provides an unprecedented amount of information by way of blogs, videos, and podcasts. Conduct a critique of one blog, one video, and one podcast, which provide information that addresses the topic of your Final Research Paper. Assess the authors’ use of bias, validity, and applicability of information. Examine the influence of web-based information on global citizenship and multicultural understanding. Then, compile a list of three factors you believe should be considered when evaluating Internet sources for use in researching information.
The paper must be three pages in length (excluding the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style. In addition to the three multimedia sources you are analyzing, support your points with at least two scholarly sources. One of the scholarly sources must be from the Ashford Online Library. Cite your sources within the text of your paper and on the reference page. For information regarding APA, including samples and tutorials, visit the Ashford Writing Center within the Learning Resources tab on the left navigation toolbar.
This what I wrote for my discussion so please follow directions.
As I reviewed the week five final research assignment, I have chosen three from social concern that caught my eye including obesity, underage drinking, and smoking. Choosing these topics have me wondering which subject has the biggest effect on society and I would like to know all three that I am searching because I have young adults in this bracket. Additional to research these topics determine which one holds the most credible sources when it comes to asking questions and setting out facts on these social concerns.
The topic obesity caught my eye because it is all over the globe. I too have battled obesity in my life time. This is a touching concern when it comes to kids or household. Since obesity is a very sensitive issue because so many people have had complication and died from obesity. This author discusses why adult obesity has increased in 2013 and explores the individualization of care in obesity, drawing attention. This source provides credible and true on this certain social concern.
The second topic is underage drinking in which that is a major concern in the globe today. This article mention that underage drinking takes effect on the youth is a health journal about underage drinking in college students. Additional why certain underage college students consume alcohol in excess. Participants attach positive expectancies to alcohol use, including peer influence, support and reduction of social anxiety (Dodd, Glassman, Arthur, Webb, & Miller, 2010). I found this source very credible and reliable in this certain social concern.

Please answer all questions. To get partial credit for incorrect answers, please show your work. To get
full credit, properly label all graphs where appropriate.
The assignment has 6 points.
- Consider and income guarantee program with an income guarantee of $4,000 and a benefit reduction
rate of 50%. A person can work up to 2,000 hours per year at $9 per hour. (3 points)
a. Draw the person’s budget constraint with the income guarantee
b. Suppose that the income guarantee rises to $6,000 but with a 75% reduction rate. Draw the
new budget constraint.
c. Which of the two income programs is more likely to discourage work? Explain in terms of
substitution and income effects.2. The private marginal benefit for commodity X is given by 10-X, where X is the number of units
consumed. The private marginal cost of producing X is constant at $2. For each unit of X produced,
an external damage of $3 is imposed on members of society.
What type of externality is this? In the absence of any government intervention, how much X is
produced? What is the efficient level of production of X? What is the gain to society involved in
moving from the inefficient to the efficient level of production? Suggest an approach that the
government could take that could lead to the efficient level. How much would such an approach cost
or benefit government in the form of increased government tax revenues or increased government
costs? Please draw the graph that visually shows this externality situation as well as the movement
of the supply and/or demand curves. (2 points)Gruber problem (note – these are problems from the Third Edition of the text)
3. Chapter 5, Problem 2 (1 point)
When the state of virginia imposed stricter regulations on air pollution in 2003, it also authorized an auction of pollution permits, allowing some plants to emit larger amounts of ozone-depleting chemicals than would otherwise be allowed, and some to emit less. Theory predicts that this auction led to a socially efficient allocation of pollution. Describe how this outcome would occur.
