I’m working on a biology writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Climate Change is a two-part problem. First, because of ozone depletion, more solar radiation enters the Earth’s atmosphere and secondly, because of greenhouse gas accumulation in the atmosphere, more heat is trapped and re-radiated back to the Earth’s surface.
The following two quotes are from scientists that are part of the IPCC: “Fossil energy use is responsible for about 85% of the anthropogenic CO2 emissions produced annually.”and “As global average temperature increase exceeds 3.5°C, model projections suggest significant extinctions ranging from 40 to 70 per cent of species assessed around the globe.”
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is a scientific intergovernmental body under the auspices of the United Nations, made up of over 600 scientists from around the globe. The IPCC does not carry out its own original research but instead is charged with assessment of published literature on climate change (we are talking THOUSANDS of research articles and other documents) with the goal of understanding the risk of human-induced climate change.
If so many scientists agree that climate change is real and that anthropogenic activity is a major cause, why are there still doubters? Read the following two articles and respond in 1 paragraph. If you don’t know what anthropogenic means, you cannot answer the question, so please look it up!

4) RESPOND:Besides buying this car, what message is the car company conveying? Clearly they are trying to strike an emotional nerve, so how does this commercial make you feel? Note how ‘out of place’ the polar bear looks in the varying ecosystems. The polar bear was very specifically chosen for this message – why? Do you feel Nissan effectively reaches their target audience, the educated consumer? Why or why not? Do some research, you cannot necessarily answer each of these questions simply by watching the commercial.
