Assignment on Philosophy Figures
Instructions: Choose any philosopher from pages. 1272 who is mentioned in the book. You may choose a widely featured philosopher (albeit not the same one you wrote about in Assignment #2) or someone who is only mentioned briefly in the text (such as Bertrand Russell on p. 254).
You can’t pick Socrates, Plato, or Aristotle as your philosopher.
The focus of your essay should be on thoroughly explaining the philosopher’s significant ideas and contributions. Discuss how this philosopher was impacted by other philosophers or events, as well as the impact this philosopher has had on others. Finally, express your own opinion on the philosopher’s thoughts.
The following are the goals of assignments:
Identify and describe essential topics pertinent to the assignment prompt’s theme.
Beyond the presentation of course information, go deeper into philosophical issues.
Examine course materials to produce a well-informed investigation of your viewpoints on an issue addressed in the assignment.
Investigate academic sources to aid in the exploration and expansion of students’ perspectives, as well as the development of critical thinking abilities.
Create a compelling case to back up your claim.
All sources must be properly referenced and cited. (APA)
The length of the assignment should be between 1300 and 1700 words.
